About the Author

E.P. Garth is the author of the Pat Cassidy novels.  He drew his inspiration for his novels from Robert B. Parker, author of the Spenser and Jesse Stone novels.  E.P. created a group of believable characters and put them in a locale he is very familiar with.  Texas.  He also placed his main character, Pat Cassidy, in a time period making author and protagonist the same age relatively speaking.

Our readers have seen Pat Cassidy grow as a person in the first three books beginning with OFF THE AIR.  Pat moves on from a sportscasting career in the first installment of the series and by the time of the third book, ON THE RANGE, he is a full-fledged private investigator solving difficult cases along the way.


E.P. grew up in Ennis, Texas and earned a BS.ed in Social Studies from Baylor University.   He accomplished this after going to college from scratch at the age of forty.  Garth currently teaches 7th grade Texas History to gifted and talented students in Waco ISD.

Before becoming a teacher and author he won many broadcasting awards for documentary and commercial writing and production.  His High School Hall of Famers documentary won a national broadcast award.  E.P. continues working in radio currently serving as color analyst for the Sam Houston State Bearkat Football Radio Network.

He is married to Sue Quick Garth, also a  teacher is Waco ISD.  They enjoy living in Waco near their daughters and their families.
